It was the first time some of us had got out our hockey sticks since last season. You may think some of us may have been a bit rusty, not having hit a ball for sometime. This was kindly demonstrated by our coach, Linda, who quickly pointed towards one of the spectators, blaming him. Alfie immediately denied all knowledge and carried on talking to the spectators Jessica and James. Thank you James for keeping a watchful eye on the 'juniors' of the club.
The weather was brilliant which made the day so much more enjoyable.
The turnout was very impressive and we even created a super team 'Treasurer's Eleven'. In my opinion this made the games a little unfair.
It was great to see such an interest in goalkeeping and we had three willing and very able goalies, even without Rachel. Where were you? You missed out on a few mad Zulu runs to start the games. Remember Adam, they are Astroturf burns not carpet burns!!!
The President's team lead by Mel were in red and seemed to be the stronger side against the Chairman's team playing in white. However along came the Treasurer's Eleven and whooped you all......
We decided to concede all our games and the day was finished off with a golden goal match. What a turnaround after all the hard work of the President's team, they lost the trophy to the Chair's team after about 5 minutes. To much lager at half time me thinks.....
All back to the club to sit outside on the terrace with a pint.
Don't forget training starts at 8.00pm and if you can't make it let someone know so they can tell the coaches.
